When people think about an accessible bathroom, they often picture a clinical space designed only for medical needs. At Enduring Home Solutions, we believe accessibility should never come at the expense of beauty, comfort, or dignity.
The three projects featured in this video demonstrate how thoughtful design can support families through every stage of life. As you watch the before-and-after transformations, you’ll see more than beautiful renovations—you’ll see homes redesigned to provide greater independence, safety, and peace of mind.
A Bathroom Designed for Every Chapter
Some accessibility solutions are needed immediately. Others become invaluable years later.
One homeowner first contacted us because her daughter with special needs required a safer bathing environment. We designed an elegant, low-threshold shower featuring a one-inch curb and a frameless sliding bypass glass enclosure that maintained easy entry while preserving a clean, modern appearance.
Years later, the same bathroom became essential as her husband battled Alzheimer’s disease. Then, following the homeowner’s own femur fracture, the accessible shower once again proved invaluable.
Knowing that needs evolve over time, the shower was designed so it could easily transition to full roll-in accessibility by adding a ramp kit and replacing the glass enclosure with a shower curtain when needed. Rather than sacrificing aesthetics for function, the space was built to offer both.
Planning for Today—and Tomorrow
Our second featured project centered around an incredible 11-year-old girl living with cerebral palsy.
Her mother had already sustained multiple back injuries while lifting her into a traditional bathtub, making everyday bathing increasingly difficult and unsafe.
Together, we designed a barrier-free shower that meets the family’s current needs while preparing for the future. As their daughter grows, the shower will continue to provide safe access while significantly reducing the physical demands placed on her caregivers.
Accessibility is not just about today’s challenges—it’s about ensuring a home continues to serve a family for years to come.
When Returning Clients Become Family
One of the greatest compliments we receive is when clients return to us years later.
One of our earliest customers recently reached back out after her husband’s health changed dramatically. Following dementia, a stroke, and a fall that resulted in an arm fracture, the bathroom they once had could no longer support his care needs.
By this point, Enduring Home Solutions had expanded both our experience and the accessibility solutions we offer.
We redesigned the bathroom to improve caregiver access, create easier transfers with a rolling shower commode chair, provide additional maneuvering space around the toilet, and install a true roll-in shower. The result is a bathroom that improves safety for both the client and his caregiver while preserving as much independence and dignity as possible.
Before and After: More Than a Remodel
The before-and-after photos featured in this project showcase dramatic visual transformations, but the true success of each renovation cannot be measured in tile selections or fixtures.
It is measured in a mother who no longer risks injury while caring for her daughter.
A homeowner who can safely recover from surgery in her own home.
A caregiver who can continue providing compassionate care for her husband with greater confidence and less physical strain.
At Enduring Home Solutions, we don’t simply remodel bathrooms—we create environments that adapt to life’s changing seasons while maintaining the warmth, beauty, and comfort of home.
If you’re considering an accessible bathroom for yourself or someone you love, we’d be honored to help design a solution that works for today and continues working for tomorrow.
